Each summer since 1991, this free summer concert series thrills more than 20,000 music fans with exceptional musical performances by artists from diverse genres including blues, classical, country, salsa, soul, rock, swing and more. This year, 4 free concerts take center stage in beautiful Todd Grove Park and feature world-renowned artists as well as local talent. Concerts begin at 6 p.m. For the schedule, please contact the Visitors Center at (707) 467-5766 or check the Event Calendar on this site.
Enjoy the crowning glory of summer fun by attending the annual car show in downtown Ukiah. Held every year in September, this is your chance to eat, drink, shop and feast your eyes on over 350 rare and beautiful automobiles along and adjacent to School Street and the Alex R. Thomas Plaza in downtown Ukiah. For more information, call 707-462-6789.
In Redwood Valley, just north of Ukiah, most of the wineries are too small to keep regular tasting room hours, so this is a rare opportunity to taste the wines and catch a behind-the-scenes glimpse of our small producers. This unique event happens twice each year — on Fathers’ Day weekend and again each November. You can count on an intimate and memorable experience at this event.
With 15-20 participating wineries pouring their best wines, incredible food pairings at each stop, and opportunities to shuttles are available from Ukiah hotels and between the wineries.
Ukiah is host to several unique art galleries. Plan your visit around the First Friday Art Walk — year-round, you can experience Mendocino County artists in a fun and festive environment as the galleries open their doors from 5-8 pm, often serving refreshments and providing live entertainment. Several Ukiah hotels offer discounts of 15-25% if you mention the Art Walk when booking your room.
The Country PumpkinFest is the largest street fair in Mendocino County. This annual two-day event is held each fall in October. Along with a variety of delicious foods, the streets of Downtown Ukiah are filled with craft vendors, fine arts exhibits, and “Scarecrow City”. Enjoy live music, a haunted house, the Scout-o-Rama, pet costume contests, the Deep Valley Brew & Wine Festival, and the ever-popular children’s carnival including many games and amusements. Join the parade, compete in the 3-on-3 hoops tourney, enter the Pumpkin Baking Contest or show off your green thumb by entering the giant pumpkin weigh-off! For event dates, deadline or more information, call our Visitors Center at (707) 467-5766.
The Nelson Family Vineyards Summer Concert Series is held in the majestic redwood grove overlooking the cabernet vineyard next to the tasting room. The monthly events provide outdoor music entertainment featuring bands playing blues, country, rock and roll or jazz. The site is casual, so please bring blankets and chairs. Enjoy delicious, handcrafted wines and local beers, along with a tasty dinner.
